(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Telecommunications provider North State Communications announced on Thursday it will acquire data center operator Winston Salem-based DataChambers.
The acquisition comes a few months after DataChambers launched a new cloud hosting infrastructure service that lets companies.
DataChambers is a full-service IT and managed services company that specializes in data storage, 24-hour managed IT solutions and secure colocation services.
The company operates a 120,000-square-foot data center is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The addition of DataChambers will complement North State Communications' portfolio of services, which includes Internet, voice, wireless, data and advanced television services.
"The acquisition advances our strategy to diversify our business and revenue mix and will strengthen North State's efforts in becoming the preferred provider of business communications and data solutions across the Triad and beyond," said Hayden McKenzie, chairman and CEO of North State Communications. "DataChambers operates approximately 120,000 square feet of data center and disaster recovery space, and offers electronic data storage and managed IT services that will benefit both existing and new customers."
The acquisition does not include the records management business, Data-Chambers Records Management, which will be retained by the current owners.
Stifel Nicolaus & Co. served as exclusive financial advisor to DataChambers in the transaction, while Charlesmead Advisors served as exclusive financial advisor to North State Communications.
Financing for the acquisition was facilitated by High Point Bank in partnership with US Bank.
